11/03/2003: "Borough Council Committees Meet Tonight"
Perkasie's Borough Council Committees meet tonight, immediately following a Special Council Meeting at 7 PM to appoint a new police officer, at the Borough Hall, 7th and Chestnut Streets. Perkasie citizens are welcome and encouraged to attend; find out first hand how Council operates -- don't rely on newspaper articles which give you a very narrow and often warped view of what goes on!The hot item, of course, is the 2004 budget. Unresolved issues include the capital budget expenditures, possible additional operating budget reductions, the economic development program budget, and the proposed electric rate increase. It could be an interesting meeting! Dickinson, Perkasie Police Chief.)
