11/15/2003: "Borough Council Meeting Monday, Nov. 17"

Perkasie Borough Council will meet Monday evening, 7 PM, at the Borough Hall at 7th & Chestnut. The public is welcome to attend the meeting. The agenda includes adoption of the Preliminary Budget for 2004, which includes a 5% increase in electric rates and a budget shortfall of about $65,000 to be taken from Perkasie's $4.1 million reserves.

Also on the agenda is a request to the state for approval to lower the speed limit to 25 MPH on Market Street between the railroad tracks and Ridge Road (S.R. 0563). Market Street is a state road (S.R. 4039), so the Borough cannot change the speed limit without the state's approval.
